Liverpool centre-half Mamadou Sakho hits the gym hard

Mamadou Sakho looks to be proving a point to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp after the centre-half hit the gym hard on Wednesday.

The France international was sent home from the Reds's summer tour of United States to speed up his recovery from an ankle problem but also due to his persistent poor time keeping.

Liverpool managed to beat AC Milan 2-0 at Levi's Stadium but suffered defeats by bitter Premier League rivals Chelsea and Serie A outfit Roma sandwiched between their victory in Santa Clara.

Sakho hasn't played a game for the 18-time English champions since a 4-0 victory over Everton in the Merseyside derby in April.

But the 25-year-old centre-half is working hard in the gym after the former Paris Saint-Germain captain posted the above video on his Instagram page on Wednesday afternoon.

The French defender was signed in a £16m deal from Ligue 1 champions PSG in 2013 under Klopp's predecessor Brendan Rodgers.

The Reds finished in eighth place in the Premier League table last season.
