Falcao will complete Chelsea transfer

Colombia international striker Radamel Falcao will be a Chelsea player from next season as per the Metro.

The Monaco striker spent a largely disappointing season on loan at Manchester United with the Red Devils turning down the option to sign him permanently.

He has long been linked with Chelsea with Blues boss Jose Mourinho even claiming that he would do all it took to get the striker firing once again, as the Metro reports.

And according to Portuguese media Mourinho will get the opportunity to restore the 29-year-old to his predatory best.

The Metro alleges that any deal for the player will most likely going to be another loan move from Monaco with still to prove that he is capable of handling the challenge of the Premier League.

Falcao made 26 appearances in the league for United last season but played the full game on just four occasions. He scored only four times with the last of those strikes coming against Leicester City all the way back in January.

The Colombia international is currently on Copa America duty with his national team and it is unclear if any move to Stamford Bridge will be done during or after the tournament.

The 29-year-old will be hoping that he has a good tournament and provides the type of performance that made him one of the most feared strikers in the game before a terrible injury derailed him.

That injury kept him out of the World Cup in 2014 and it also prevented him from fully integrating himself into the United team and getting used to life in the Premier League.

Falcao and Chelsea will be hoping that now that he has gotten over the difficult first season in England, he can kick on and go back to being the player he used to be.
