Di Maria and Khedira dropped from Real Madrid squad as Manchester United speculation continues

Angel di Maria and Sami Khedira are both missing from Real Madrid’s squad to face Atletico Madrid in the Super Cup second leg.

Earlier reports from Spain that Di Maria would be missing have proved correct and Khedira’s absence also indicates there could be movement going on behind the scenes with regards to his future at Madrid.

Following Carlo Ancelotti revealing Di Maria’s transfer request and Khedira’s contract renewal, there is a real chance both could leave Madrid this summer.

Khedira is in Germany tonight and reportedly without the permission of the club according to Cadena COPE who broke the story.

United are interested in signing Di Maria and may well make another move for Khedira after failing last summer but there’ll be other clubs who want to sign them as well, such as Bayern Munich who could be looking for a replacement for Javi Martinez following his long-term injury.
