Barcelona have announced they have reached an agreement with Real Sociedad to sign goalkeeper Claudio Bravo on a four-year contract.

The 31-year-old Chile international thus ends an eight-year career with the Basque side, who he joined in 2006 from Chilean side Colo Colo.

Barca and La Real have been negotiating for Bravo since the end of last season and a deal was delayed due to Barca midfielder Jonathan dos Santos' resistance to join the Basques on a permanent basis as part of the deal.

The two clubs eventually reached a deal, believed to be worth around 12million euros (£9.6 million).

Bravo has played in all three of Chile's World Cup games, alongside his future team-mate Alexis Sanchez.

He is the second goalkeeper to join Barcelona this summer, with 22-year-old Andre Ter Stegen signing from Borussia Monchengladbach last month.

The German is tipped to be Barcelona's long term replacement for stalwart Victor Valdes, who has ended a 12-year career with the Catalans by rejecting a new contract, but the club also required a second goalkeeper, with Jose Manuel Pinto also finishing his contract with the Catalans.

Bravo will bring with him years of experience of competing in Spain's Primera Division, as well as 82 international caps.
