Manchester United worried about Luke Shaw deal collapsing after fresh disappointment

Manchester United are worried that a move for Luke Shaw is going to collapse according to Jonathan Northcroft from The Sunday Times.
A £27m offer for Shaw was rejected by Southampton and United have failed to follow through on their claims that a deal for Shaw would be completed before the World Cup, which is why some people at the club are now fearful it won’t be completed.
Northcroft reports: “It is understood no agreement has been reached on a fee for Shaw and nor are United even near to persuading Southampton to sell their coveted teenager. Any transfer involving Shaw will have to wait until after the England squad return from Brazil – and United are not the only club coveting Shaw.”
These frustrations aren’t wholly surprising for United fans because Ed Woodward has been nothing short of terrible in the transfer market and this is just a continuation of what happened last summer. That in itself is the biggest surprise, that United don’t seem to have changed their methods despite how unsuccessful they were last year.
