Hecking: Dortmund one of the best in Europe

Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking is looking forward to the clash with Borussia Dortmund.
The Wolves' final home game of the season may not be decisive since Dortmund have already sealed second place and Wolfsburg can no longer qualify for Europe or be relegated, but Hecking wants the fans in the sold-out VW-Arena to go home with a smile on their faces nevertheless.
"It's going to be a beautiful game for us to end the season at home," he said. "The stadium is sold out and the atmosphere will be great.
"And we want to play our part in saying goodbye to our fans for the season with three points and a great performance."
That may be easier said than done though, with 24 points separating the two sides in the standings.
"They are one of the best teams in Europe," acknowledged Hecking. "That makes it a great challenge for us to hold our own against this team."
Hecking is without the injured Vaclav Pilar and Sotirios Kyrgiakos, while Patrick Helmes has been dropped to the reserve team.
Furthermore, Marvin Hitz, Thomas Kahlenberg, Krygiakos and Alexander Madlung will be saying their farewells after Wolfsburg's director of sport Klaus Allofs announced yesterday that their contracts will not be extended beyond the end of the season.
One player Hecking is looking forward to seeing again is Ilkay Gundogan, a player he had at his former club Nurnberg.
"I was always 100% certain that he would become a Germany international," said Hecking at a press conference.
"I'm delighted with the progress Ilkay has made."
Gundogan has flourished under Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp, a man who Neven Subotic claims strikes fear in the opposition.
"For me, he is the best coach in Europe," the Dortmund defender told Sport Bild magazine. "He really is a nightmare for opponents."
