LIONEL MESSI’S life is to be made into a FILM by a top Hollywood production company.
Epic Pictures have bought the rights to ‘Messi’ — a biography of the Barcelona star.
The film will focus on Messi’s childhood in Argentina, his treatment for growth hormone deficiency and his astonishing success in Spain.
And the Los Angeles-based company hopes to release the feature in time for next year’s World Cup.
Chief executive Patrick Ewald said: “The goal is to make a powerful and positive film that will leave audiences feeling inspired to go after their dreams no matter how impossible they may seem.”
The original book by Luca Caioli features interviews with the star’s former coaches, family, team-mates and Messi himself.
The Argentine, 25, has won the Ballon d’Or for the last four consecutive years.
Shooting stars
WHO could play the main men in the film of Lionel Messi’s life?
TOM CRUISE (LIONEL MESSI)
TINY Tom is the perfect pick to play Messi, who turned to growth hormones to save his football dream.
JEAN-CLAUDE VAN DAMME (CRISTIANO RONALDO)
ACTION hero is clear favourite to play the brooding, bulked-up villain of the film — Messi’s arch football nemesis Ronaldo.
JASON STATHAM (PEP GUARDIOLA)
STATHAM has the trademark look of Messi’s former boss down to a tee.
And with Kelly Brook and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley among his conquests, the Brit already knows how to manage top-level talent.
BENICIO DEL TORO (DIEGO MARADONA)
FORMER Argentina chief Maradona famously has a tattoo of Che Guevara on his arm.
So he will surely be chuffed if lookalike Del Toro, who played the guerrila fighter in two films, lands the part.
