Scunthorpe defender Kgosi Ntlhe could return to action in the home game against Oldham.
Ntlhe – fit again after a back injury – is hoping to feature for the first time since August after returning to the bench as an unused substitute in the weekend win against Morecambe.
The Iron are expected to be without skipper Andy Butler again. He missed his side’s first league win of the season on Saturday due to an ankle injury and is unlikely to return.
Forward Ryan Colclough was unavailable on Saturday because of a groin strain and will be assessed.
Gevaro Nepomuceno and goalkeeper Zeus De La Paz could both return to contention for Oldham.
The Curacao pair were scheduled to return to Oldham on Monday following the death of their international team-mate Jarzinho Pieter prior to their country’s recent game against Haiti.
Jonny Smith, on loan from Bristol City, is pushing for his first start for the club after stepping off the bench in Saturday’s home draw against Grimsby.
