Keith Hill will take charge of his first Bolton home match when Wanderers host Oxford on Tuesday.
Hill’s first game ended in a chastening 6-1 loss to Rotherham, and the Trotters boss is unsure whether he will have any of his injured players back.
Neither Daryl Murphy nor Chris O’Grady were able to make their debuts after sustaining problems in training, with the same true of Will Buckley and Harry Brockbank.
Joe Bunney is also out after suffering a broken collarbone and broken ribs in a car accident last week.
Oxford will hope to have Elliott Moore available.
The defender was withdrawn from the starting line-up ahead of last weekend’s victory over Tranmere after suffering a back spasm, with John Mousinho stepping in.
Matty Taylor returned from a groin problem as a late substitute and may well have to settle for a place on the bench again.
Jamie Hanson (hamstring) is set to miss out once more.
