Crawley Town vs Crewe Alexandra - Ferguson and Lubala hold key for Crawley
Posted Tuesday, August 20, 2019 by PA
Crawley will be looking to Nathan Ferguson and Bez Lubala to maintain their goalscoring form when they host Crewe on Tuesday.
The duo netted a goal apiece in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Scunthorpe, having been left out of the starting XI for the Carabao Cup win against Walsall.
Josh Dacres-Cogley acquitted himself well on his Reds debut, providing both assists and making a strong case for selection against Crewe.
Defender Joe McNerney is yet to feature this season due to a back injury.
Crewe will be without suspended centre-back Olly Lancashire after he was sent off in their 1-0 victory over Walsall.
Manager David Artell has indicated that he may turn to Nicky Hunt to fill the gap left by Lancashire, with the right-back having just returned to fitness after injury.
Billy Sass-Davies could also be a contender to assume the role.
Sass-Davies came off the bench during the Carabao Cup win at Middlesbrough – a fixture for which Artell shuffled his squad – and made two Sky Bet League Two appearances last season.
