Doncaster begin life after Marquis against Gillingham

Doncaster’s preparations for the new season were hit by the departure of John Marquis to Portsmouth earlier this week.
New boss Darren Moore has been linked with a number of new faces but is now unlikely to add to his squad in time for Saturday’s clash with Gillingham.
He is also set to be without defender Joe Wright, who picked up a knee injury in the pre-season friendly against Hull.
Otherwise Moore is not expected to have to cope with any further injury concerns for the game at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Gillingham boss Steve Evans has acknowledged his side face an uphill task against one of the promotion favourites.
Evans has sought to play down expectations ahead of the new campaign but has been pleased with the Gills’ pre-season progress.
Evans will give a late test to midfielder Matt Willock who has been struggling for fitness after a recent virus.
Captain Gabriel Zakuani faces at least another six weeks on the sidelines with an ankle ligament injury.
