Georginio Wijnaldum: Liverpool must be ready for tough run of games

The international break is currently underway and once it ends, Liverpool will have a very tough run of games.

Liverpool's tough month
Liverpool's first game back after the international break will see them take on Tottenham on September 15th.

Three days later Liverpool will kick-off their 2018 Champions League campaign vs Ligue 1 outfit, PSG.

Liverpool then host Southampton in the Premier League before a midweek League Cup clash with Chelsea on September 25th.

The Reds will play Chelsea once again on the 29th of September, this time in the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp's men will then face another tough Champions League game vs Napoli.

Finally, on Sunday, October 7th, Liverpool must play Premier League champions, Manchester City.

'It's going to be a really important period for us'
This is an incredibly tough run of games for any side.

However, Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum believes the Reds can handle this very tough month of games.

"It's going to be a really important period for us – not only because they're big games, but also because we play a lot of games. I think in these kinds of periods you need your whole squad.

"I don't know why everyone was like, 'Oh, tough group'. I think every group is tough. We know that Paris Saint-Germain are a good team.

"We played Napoli already in the pre-season and we won 5-0. But we still know they are a good team and there were situations in that game where there was stuff to deal with.

"We have to do things better, but the result is the most important thing.

"During the season we have to grow and [when in] this kind of situation [so] the next time you make it less hard for yourself. I think you have to play football in those kinds of situations and that has to be improved during the season."
