Kandi strikes late for Dagenham

Chike Kandi’s 84th minute penalty gave Dagenham their first win of the Vanarama National League season over fellow strugglers Braintree.
The clash between the League’s bottom two had looked set for a stalemate until Daggers striker Noel Leighton was hauled down in the box.
Kandi rifled home the spot-kick but the hosts lived dangerously in the final minutes and Braintree’s Dave Nieskens headed just wide from a corner.
Dagenham had the best chance of the first half when new signing Tomi Adeloye crashed a 36th minute effort off the bar.
Braintree rallied after the break with Justin Amaluzor forcing a fine save out of Elliot Justham before the visitors suffered their late heartbreak.
