Man Utd boss Mourinho denies Ronaldo option: It was never on my table

Jose Mourinho has refuted claims he rejected a move to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Manchester United.

The 33-year-old joined Juventus this summer after nine seasons with Real Madrid.

Ronaldo spent six seasons with United before leaving for the Bernabeu. Reports surfaced last week that Mourinho had an opportunity to sign his compatriot. But speaking after United's win over Burnley on Sunday, the Portuguese denied the claim.

"Cristiano was never on my table to say yes or no," Mourinho, when asked about the speculation, told reporters.

"Cristiano to come to us, it was never on my table."
