JOSE MOURINHO has declared himself the 'Unselfish One' amid the current turmoil surrounding Manchester United.
Far from things being about him all the time, boss Mourinho claims he has always been a club man.
Jose Mourinho says he is "not selfish" when it comes to football
So ahead of Monday's massive Premier League clash with Tottenham he refused to claim the fans' support in their first two games was for him.
Mourinho, who took his staff out for a meal in Manchester city centre on Sunday, said: "The supporters were fantastic in both matches.
"Not for me, for the team which is the only thing that matters.
"In my career I was never selfish and thinking about myself, I was always a club man. That's what I am. I'm really happy when they support the team."
Now Mourinho wants his players to reward the fans with victory on Monday night — particularly for sticking by them in defeat at Brighton eight days ago.
He said: "Against Leicester, you can say it was a normal situation because the team was playing well and was winning.
"To be supportive of the team at Brighton, where we didn't play well and lost, it gives you a fantastic feeling.
"I hope the players also feel it and are ready to give everything they have."
Meanwhile, Mourinho again refused to say if he is happy with his squad.
Asked the question at a tense press conference, he simply replied: "You know my answer."
