And while the likes of Lionel Messi and Co are being put through their paces, Icardi has wasted no time in jetting off on holiday.
Icardi and the other half flew to Africa and lived the rural life as they got up close and personal with resident elephants.
They both kept their followers updated of their trip and Icardi showed his humour with the couple invaded by monkeys.
In a picture of his wife stripped off in the background, he write: "Invasion of the monkeys, to see my wife bath."
Icardi will return from his holiday with speculation still rife over his future.
The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to Chelsea if Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri takes over.
The striker has a £96million release clause for clubs outside of Italy.
While boss at Napoli – before leaving at the end of May – Sarri tried to land Icardi but could never quite afford the master finisher but that will not be a problem at Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile Argentina begin their campaign against Iceland in Moscow on June 16. They will also face Croatia and Nigeria in Group D.
