Fan promises to tattoo Garry Monk's face on his bottom... and Monk helps pay for it!

Garry Monk is at the heart of one of the funniest and craziest anecdotes of the weekend in England, after a fan of Birmingham City promised to tattoo Monk's face on his bottom if they managed to beat Fulham.

After the victory (3-1) which meant the Blues avoided relegation to League One, Kevin Tomlinson had no choice but to fulfil his mission and started a crowdfunding campaign.

"I promised that I would tattoo Garry Monk's face on my bottom if Birmingham beat Fulham and here I am, we'll see what happens," he said.

"If I can get enough for the little tattoo, the rest will go to the 'Justice' campaign for the 21," Tomlinson wrote in reference to the relatives of the 21 people killed in bombing of a Birmingham pub in 1974.

His story was told masterfully through Twitter by Shane Cuzick, and it quickly went viral, Monk himself then depositing the remaining 80 pounds to complete the 100 that Tomlinson needed to get the tattoo.

"I paid for it, but only on one condition," Monk wrote.

"All the 'bluenoses' - as they call Birmingham fans - we want to see the proof."

The campaign, after Monk's donation, has become so popular that more than 300 euros has been raised in just two days.

"We already have a tattoo artist," announced Cuzick.

All that's left is Kevin Tomlinson.

It will be more proof of the unique passion with which football is experienced in England.
