The Scottish club named the 37-year-old former England midfielder as their manager on a four-year deal yesterday.
The former England captain, who has coached Liverpool's Under-18s after hanging up his boots two years ago, replaces Graeme Murty for his first management role.
He will be taking his model wife Alex Curran to Glasgow.
The mum-of-four, 35, is a Mirror fashion columnist born in Merseyside in 1982.

Alex began dating Steven Gerrard in 2002 and they got married in 2007.
The ceremony took place in the Cliveden House luxury hotel in Buckinghamshire.
The couple have four kids – three daughters and one son.
Their first son Lio was born last April.
They also have daughters Lilly-Ella, 13, Lexie, 11, and Lourdes, 5.
Alex previously wrote a column for OK Magazine from 2009 to 2013.
FASHION ICON: Alex has launched her own label
The model launched her own fragrance Alex in 2007, as well as her own design collection Forever Unique by Alex Gerrard in 2010.
She was announced as the model for the Lipsy VIP Collection in 2013.
Gerrard said he was delighted to be joining Rangers.
He said: "I am honoured to become the next manager of Rangers. I have enormous respect for this football club, and its history and tradition.
"I can't wait to start this new journey at Rangers as we look to build on the many successes that this Club has achieved."
Gerrard made 504 Premier League appearances for Liverpool and also helped the Merseyside club win the Champions League title in the 2004-05 season.
"From the very beginning, talks have been extremely positive and we believe that Steven is the right man to drive Rangers forward," Rangers chairman Dave King said.
"He was extremely impressive throughout our negotiations and we are convinced he has the necessary knowledge and temperament to lead the club to the success we all desire."
Reinvigorating Rangers will be a big challenge for Gerrard. The club have won a record 54 Scottish league titles but are struggling to recover from the financial problems that saw them reformed in the bottom tier of Scottish football in 2012.
