Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho will stay until 2020
Mourinho has another 18 months to run on his current contract – plus the option of a further year.
And we can reveal today that the potential 12-month extension of that deal is on the club's side.
They will activate it, too, if necessary, as the Old Trafford board want to keep the self-described "Special One".
Mourinho, 54, has recently been linked with switches to Paris Saint Germain and international management roles.
But United are happy with him – and claim he is happy at Old Trafford too.
They want him in charge of the club for the long term and while talks on a new contract have NOT started, it is likely they will at some point.
But Manchester United's attitude is that they will retain his services for at least another three years.
They also know they would be entitled to huge compensation if Mourinho quit before his contract ended.
United also have no problem with Mourinho living in a hotel.
They say his luxury accommodation is more like a "serviced apartment" and his living arrangements are not an issue.
