Gareth Bale could be heading back to Tottenham
The Wales international, who left Spurs in 2013 for a then-record fee of £85m, has struggled to consistently impress at Real Madrid.
Injuries have hampered the 28-year-old's impact at the Bernabeu.
Bale has made just seven appearances in all competitions under Zinedine Zidane this season, netting three goals and chipping in with three assists.
And according to Spanish news outlet Diario Gol, Real have ran out of patience with the winger.
They say Real president Florentino Perez has decided to sell Bale back to Tottenham.
The La Liga champions reportedly held talks with numerous Premier League clubs but only Spurs were willing to negotiate a deal.
Bale, who is set to return for Real after the international break, is keen to return to Tottenham next summer.
Diario Gol add that Perez is hoping to include Harry Kane in any possible Bale deal.
Real want the England international involved in any agreement to lower Spurs' asking price for the 24-year-old goal machine.
Perez and Zidane are both huge admirers of Kane, who has netted 13 goals already this season under Mauricio Pochettino.
