James Rodriguez is a target for Manchester United and Chelsea
JOSE MOURINHO is ready to deal his former club Chelsea another blow by snatching Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez from under their noses.
Mourinho claimed his first victory over The Blues this summer by landing Romelu Lukaku who will have a medical after a £100m deal was agreed with Everton.
Ironically it was Mourinho who advised against Chelsea inserting a buy back clause in the £28 million deal that took Lukaku to Goodison Park three years ago.
And he is now ready to heap more misery on his former Stamford Bridge bosses with a move for the Columbian star James who is rated at £70 million.
Real are keen to sell James in a bid to finance a world record move for Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe while United are looking to replace Wayne Rooney.
Paris St-Germain and Chelsea are both keen on signing James who favours a move to Manchester to link up with Mourinho who wants more strike power still.
Real president Florentino Perez is believed to favour a deal with Chelsea but won't dig his heals in as he needs to bolster his side’s bank balance.
James has been a United target for the last two years and it now appears that their patience will finally be rewarded.
