Wayne Rooney appears set to rejoin Everton
WAYNE ROONEY will reportedly accept a big pay cut to rejoin Everton from Manchester United.
Wayne Rooney, reports earlier today, suggested will complete his switch to Goodison Park in the next 48 hours.
The England international failed to curry favour under Jose Mourinho, starting just 15 Premier League games for United.
Previously, it was suggested Everton were baulking at stumping up Rooney's £250,000-a-week wages.
And according to the Daily Mail, Rooney will earn £150,000-a-week when he rejoins the Toffees.
The report says the Red Devils will pay off the final year of his contract which is worth £15m.
On top of that, there is supposedly a loyalty bonus.
His basic wage of £230,000 a week were reduced to £180,000 last season after United failed to qualify for the Champions League.
Rooney's agent, Paul Stratford, was on hand to sort out the finer details of the switch.
Meanwhile, United are hoping to land Romelu Lukaku.
The deal is not connected with Rooney, but Lukaku would fetch in excess of £75million.
Chelsea are prepared to match United’s bid for the player, who they previously sold.
