Barcelona increase Paulinho offer, but Guangzhou Evergrande reject it too

Guangzhou Evergrande have received another bid from Barcelona, who are interested in brining Paulinho to the Camp Nou, but the Chinese Super League club have turned this proposal down as well.

Already the Blaugrana had offered 20 million euros for the Brazilian midfielder and they have now had one of 25m euros rejected too.

It didn't take the Catalan club at all long to come back with an improved offer, as they begin to consider alternatives to Marco Verratti, who is proving near impossible to sign from Paris Saint-Germain.

Given his physical presence and the way he advances for goalscoring opportunities, the 29-year-old Brazilian is one Plan B that Barcelona have been considering.

This pursuit is unrelated to that of Dani Ceballos, who is another Blaugrana target.
