Blackburn Rovers vs Blackpool - Ben Marshall on way out

Posted Friday, January 27, 2017 by PA

Ben Marshall will once again be left out of Blackburn's squad against Blackpool with his future at Ewood Park in doubt.

Owen Coyle omitted the 25-year-old Wolves target from his squad last weekend and it appears that he has played his final game for Rovers.

Charlie Mulgrew (groin) has been added to the injury list, though Coyle is hopeful his is not a long-term absence, while Corry Evans' long-standing groin problem will need to be assessed again.

Tommie Hoban (shoulder), Elliott Ward (ankle) and Adam Henley (hamstring) are already sidelined.

Blackpool striker Nathan Delfouneso will be unable to feature against one of his former clubs.

The 25-year-old returned to the Seasiders for a fourth spell earlier this month but cannot play against Rovers, whom he last represented 12 months ago, as he has already turned out in the competition for parent club Swindon.

Seasiders boss Gary Bowyer, who will be returning to Ewood Park for the first time since he was sacked as manager, is hopeful one or two of his injury absentees will return.

Five players - Kyle Vassell, Jack Payne, Brad Potts, Colin Daniel (all hamstring) and Andy Taylor (knee) - were sidelined for the draw with Yeovil last weekend.
