Shakira confirms her son is on the mend

The son of Barcelona defender Gerard Pique and partner Shakira is currently recovering from an undisclosed illness, the singer has confirmed.
Shakira took to Twitter to post a picture of herself and son Sasha accompanied with a message confirming that he is recuperating at home.
"Thank you everyone for all of the loving messages to Sasha during the last few days," she wrote. "Now everything is under control and we are happy."
Gracias a todos x los mensajes cariñosos a sasha durante los días que estuvo enfermito. Ahora todo bajo control y con la alegría de siempre!
It was the first time that the popstar had made a public reference to Sasha's illness, after much speculation about it in recent days.
Shakira had cancelled scheduled appearances at the Latin Grammy Awards gala and the American Music Awards in order to be with her son.
