Gareth Southgate Reportedly Caught Up In Tax Avoidance Scandal

The job of England manager has often been referred to as a 'poisoned chalice' but at this point we've moved that to a full on curse. After Sam Allardyce's controversial departure the FA were hoping the new man would be whiter than white.
England face Malta on Saturday night in their first match since the Daily Telegraph's sting uncovered some sort of possible corruption by Allardyce and the former Bolton Wanderers manager lost his dream job.
Gareth Southgate has become the interim boss almost by default and has four games to put forward his case to get the job permanently but now he's got himself wrapped up in a tax avoidance issue.
The former centre back has two investments with investment firm Ingenious, which he joined in 2004. According to The Daily Mirror, Ingenious owes HM Revenues and Customs a whopping £620 million!

Somewhat ironically the FA have refused to comment on the issues saying, "This is a private matter."
Of course Allardyce's dalliances with the fake investors from the Far East did mess with FA policy but he didn't wasn't following through with anything. The former England manager did also keep saying he'd have to ask his bosses permission to do anything. But that's all by the by!
The last thing Southgate's employers would want is the slightest bit of embarrassment about their new manager but that's what they've got.
Nobody's perfect though!
