John Terry has taken to social media to reveal that Sir Alex Ferguson has been an inspiring figure in his career.

The Chelsea captain has enjoyed a glittering career for his club and has won four Premier League titles and five FA Cups with the west London side, as well as helping them to win the Champions League in 2012.

Terry is currently enjoying some days off from Premier League football during the international break but will be hoping to return to action this weekend when the Blues travel to Swansea City in the top flight.

And the Blues skipper used his personal Instagram account to share a picture of himself as a child posing for a photo with former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Terry shared the picture above on Instagram and wrote: "Flashback to a young 14 year old JT. Who would have thought I would go onto win 4 Premier Leagues and 5 FA Cups.

"I have so much respect for Sir Alex Ferguson and will never forget what he done for me and my family."

Chelsea have made a strong start to life under new manager Antonio Conte, winning all three of their opening top flight games so far this season.
