Manchester City fan blasts Joe Hart for ‘spitting his dummy out’ in Pep row

WHILE Pep Guardiola has been enjoying a dream start as Manchester City boss, things have been a little less enjoyable for former club Number 1, Joe Hart.

Relegated to second in the pecking order between the sticks at the Etihad, Hart has started only one game for the Sky Blues this season – playing out a near-meaningless 1-0 victory over Steaua Bucharest last night.

And with the arrival of Barcelona’s Chilean stopper Claudio Bravo confirmed earlier today, the 29-year-old’s time in Manchester seems to have come to an abrupt end.

The decision to bench England’s first-choice goalkeeper is Pep’s first big call since taking the hot seat, one that has divided City’s fanbase.

But in the aftermath of last night’s Champions League play-off victory over Bucharest, one supporter called the BBC’s Kelly Cates to voice his support for the Spanish coach.

"He’s been at City now for the last 10 years and for the last five or six of them he’s had no competition – he’s been Number 1,” he said.

"The minute he gets some competition, he’s spat his dummy out.

"We’ve got Pep Guardiola now, the best manager on the planet and we’ve gotta believe in him.”

Hart, a Shrewsbury Town academy graduate, has been linked with a host of clubs since being frozen out of the first team, including Everton, Liverpool and Sevilla.

But Everton boss Ronald Koeman flatly denied the club had any interest in signing Hart during a press conference earlier today.

"There is no interest [in Hart],” he said.

"I don’t talk about which positions or players or you start the season talking about transfers. Stoke is more important than all the rumours to me.”
