PERV: Johnson has become a pool champion while in prison

The depraved Premier League hot-shot showed off his skills at cushy HMP Moorland near Doncaster, South Yorks.

An insider said the paedophile, who was locked up for abusing a schoolgirl, beats all-comers at the nick where most inmates are sex offenders, and is pool champion on his wing.

Johnson, 29, hosts tournaments for 75 minutes each evening before lockup, and inmates have more than five hours to play games at weekends.

A source said: “Johnson is brilliant but you’d expect him to be good at ball games given that he used to play for England.

"There’s no animosity towards him and he even shows inmates how to line up their shots.”

Before being jailed, Johnson honed his cue talents at his £1.85million mansion in Castle Eden, Co Durham, where he lived with partner Stacey Flounders and their 19-month-old daughter Ayla.

The five-bedroom property has its own games room complete with plush pool table and bar.

The luxury pad, which also boasted a jukebox, giant wall-mounted TV, leather sofas and deep pile carpets is a far cry from Johnson’s current sparse surroundings in the Category C prison.

The former £60,000-a-week star put the house on the market after he was jailed for six years in March for grooming and sexual activity with a 15-year-old Sunderland fan.
