JOHN TERRY has always been ferocious on the pitch.
But it appears he has a more cuddly side off it after welcoming a new addition to his family – a French bulldog puppy.
The Chelsea captain, who is potentially facing his final season at Stamford Bridge, took to Instagram to show off his new dog and reveal it’s name.
In keeping with his loyalty to the club – he enters his 19th campaign at Chelsea- Terry even named the dog in honour of the club.
His name? Blue.
Terry wrote: "New addition to the Terry household tonight.
"Welcome BLUE.”
New Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has started Terry in all seven of the club’s pre-season friendlies so far.
The former Italy manager said that the 35-year-old will play an "important” role in leading the club and the new additions next season.
Conte said: "It’s important for me that he can explain what it means to play for this club, what it means to wear this shirt, this badge. I think it’s important in the dressing room.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte says skipper John Terry has been a great influence on his Blues team-mates this summer
"I have spoken with him. In the future it's important to have this relationship because he is the captain of our team and it's important also to transfer sometimes this message.
"In every team there are some players with great experience. And I think this experience counts during the season. If you play but also if you don't play, it's important.
"The experience helps transfer the right concept to the team. And I must say John is a good example during the training session."
