MANCHESTER UNITED skipper Wayne Rooney had heads turning on Friday when he turned up to training in a dazzling BMW worth a staggering £103,000.

Arriving in flashy cars is just part and parcel of a Premier League footballer but it doesn't get more futuristic than Rooney's BMW i8 hybrid supercar.

Rooney's car can reach top speeds of 155mph

Capable of 0-62mph in 4.4 seconds, the Beemer can reach top speeds of 155mph and boasts engine sounds that will make Jose Mourinho hear Rooney arriving to training before seeing him.

And it will look right at home in United's Carrington training ground car park alongside the likes of Memphis Depay's £250,000 Rolls Royce and Zlatan Ibrahimovic's Porsche 918 Spyder.

It comes just two days after masked raiders tried to break into Rooney's £6million mansion while he was playing his own testimonial against Everton.

UFC star Conor McGregor was also seen attracting plenty of attention when he drove around the streets of Dublin in the same Beemer in June.

Known for flaunting his wealth, McGregor posted a picture to his Instagram giving his followers a glimpse of the slick interior of the BMW.

United chief Mourinho will be hoping Rooney is up to speed when the Premier League season kicks off in just over a week's time.

The Red Devils face Leicester in the Community Shield final on Sunday before travelling to Eddie Howe's Bournemouth a week later.
