Another day another name: Cheryl ditches Fernandez-Versini in image revamp

X FACTOR judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini may be in the mist of a bitter divorce battle, but it seems she is desperate to move on from the romance.

GOING IT ALONE: Chezza will now be known simply as Cheryl

The pop beauty has finally revealed what she wants to be called after months of speculation she would revert to her maiden name of Cheryl Tweedy, or even her most brandable name Cheryl Cole.

But no, like Madonna and Cher before her, Chezza simply wants to be known as Cheryl.

Though given the apparent speed of her relationship with Liam Payne who knows, the former Girls Aloud star could be Cheryl Payne in no time.

MOVING ON: Cheryl and JB are in the middle of a bitter divorce

The 32-year-old is set to receive an award at Eva Longoria's Global Gift Gala in Paris next month, though has given strict instructions to organisers to only refer to her by her first name at all times.

A source said: "Cheryl wants to wipe the slate clean and start afresh with a new name, now the divorce is going through.

"Things turned pretty nasty over the weekend, with both Cheryl and JB making comments on social media, so from hereon in, she will just be known as Cheryl.

"Her last album in 2014 was released under the name 'Cheryl', too, but everyone still called her by her new married name."

Before adding to The Mirror: "This time around, everyone is under strict instructions that she is just Cheryl, nothing else.

"Organisers at next month's event were told that all announcements of Cheryl's attendance should only refer to her as Cheryl.”
