Chris Smalling waved off to Man Utd training at Carrington

Chris Smalling was saluted by his pet dog as he made his way to training with Manchester United on Tuesday morning.

The defender looked in good spirits as he reported for duty at the Red Devils’ Carrington training base.

The England defender has been in fine form for the Red Devils this season and will be expecting to feature when Louis van Gaal’s men host Crystal Palace at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

And the defender was given a send-off by his pet dog as he reported for training on Tuesday morning.

Smalling posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “Off to #training”

United head into Wednesday’s game with Palace on the back of their 1-0 victory over Aston Villa at Old Trafford at the weekend thanks to Marcus Rashford’s goal.

The Red Devils are currently fifth in the table and four points adrift of the top four.
