Steven Fletcher Talks About That Picture Posing Next To His Lamborghini

Steven Fletcher has admitted he now regrets infamously posing for a photo next to his Lamborghini super car.
The Sunderland striker - currently on-loan at French club Marseille - accepts that allowing such an image to filter out into the public domain was an error, especially when his form for the Black Cats wasn't particularly great and the club were embroiled in a relegation battle.

The former Hibs man insists that he wasn't trying to show off his excess wealth, and claims to have learned his lesson from the affair.
Speaking via The Daily Record, the 28-year-old said: "We all make mistakes but I don't regret buying my car. The fans gave me dog's abuse for that, of course they did."
"There was loads of stuff on social media but it's life, you learn, and everyone makes mistakes."
"It would have been worse had I tweeted the picture of myself beside this car but I didn't. I got stick for standing beside my car posing for a picture. The guy I bought it through asked if he could have a picture of me. I agreed and two weeks later it fell into someone else's hands and they tweeted it."
"People thought I was a Billy Big Time. They never bothered with the classic Mini sitting next to it - that car's my pride and joy. But they saw the Lamborghini and got the wrong idea about me. I had a reputation when I was younger for showing off stuff but I was brought up in a normal family."
"I made a good living and had a poster of a Lamborghini on my wall when I was a kid. I had the chance to buy one and I did but I have grown up now."
Interestingly, Fletcher admits that his choice of car for his Ligue 1 adventure with Marseille is a little more reserved that before - and he now has now drives a more modest 4×4 to go with his club Citroen.
