Liverpool fans fume after being charged with “illicit chants” whilst Man United aren’t

UEFA today charged Liverpool and Manchester United over last night’s Europa League trouble at Old Trafford, but Liverpool fans are less than happy about UEFA’s charges.

The travelling Liverpool fans were charged with "illicit chants" whilst Manchester United were not given this charge despite audible Hillsborough chants in both legs.

A minority of travelling Liverpool fans began chanting "Munich" in reference to the Munich Air disaster which killed a number of Manchester United stars in 1958.

It’s incredible to see grown adults act this way but nonetheless UEFA should certainly have been more consistent with their charges.

Liverpool progressed to the Europa League quarter finals after a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford but their fans on social media are irate that their rivals weren’t also charged with "illicit chants".
