French newspaper Liberation have released a stunning front page on Friday morning and once again, from a legal perspective, things do not look good for Real Madrid and France striker Karim Benzema.
The Real Madrid hitman has spent much of the past year embroiled in the Mathieu Valbuena sextape scandal, but the new revelations pale into comparison.
According to Liberation, Karim Benzema’s fresh legal problems have seen him heard as a witness in a drug trafficking and organised gang case.
Ever since his days at Lyon and due to his background there have been many stories floating around about the France striker but no one could ever have imagined what he would get himself involved into.
This particular judicial investigation was opened in September 17, 2015 by the Paris courts for “organised gang laundering,” “money laundering” and “drug trafficking laundering”.
Benzema has already been heard as a witness and according to a source of Liberation, the Real Madrid striker has “lost a lot of money.”
Linked to these very serious crimes are Benzema’s entourage and even a company set up in 2014, that he is a director of.
It seems safe to say that we will hear plenty more about this in the coming months!
If there was any chance of Karim Benzema playing at Euro 2016, that has surely been distinguished now.
