Adam Johnson's Victim 'Could Sue Footballer'

It looks like Sunderland are currently having to deal with the fallout from the Adam Johnson trial more than the player himself but the former winger's troubles are far from over, aside from his sentencing not happening for another three weeks.
Earlier this week Johnson was found guilty of one act of sexual activity with a child to go along with with the cases of grooming and sexual activity that he had already plead guilty to. The biggest questions since have been posed of his club who reportedly knew about the players guilt last year but allowed him to play.
However along with the potential of being sentenced to up to 10 years in prison one lawyer has told The Daily Express that the winger could have to pay up to £1 million in compensation to the girl saying:
"If there was potential of long-lasting psychological damage, it could be £1 million. If it is not a long-term issue, I still envisage a six-figure payout."
There is currently no suggestion that the girl, who was a big Sunderland fan, or her family would be seeking compensation from the sacked player.
Johnson's sentencing will take place this month and he could be facing between four and ten years in prison.
