Barca stars Andres Iniesta and Leo Messi, along with most of Spain's top-division teams, have added their support to a charitable initiative being organised by Centre d'Esports Sabadell to raise funds for research into a rare disease that one of their own young supporters suffers from. As part of this initiative, fans of the 'Arlequinats' have challenged those of local rivals Terrassa to a charity match on Saturday 6th February. Barca midfielder Iniesta has also recorded a video message for the family of the sick child, álvaro, to "say hello and send a big hug" to the youngster as well as asking him if he would like to arrange to meet the player himself. "Let's see if you have a bit of time in the next few days and we can meet up and hang out together for a bit", Iniesta said.
The match between the Sabadell and Terrassa supporters will kick off at the Olympic Stadium in Terrassa this Saturday at 10 am, with tickets being sold for one euro. All proceeds will go to the association, 'Juntos Podemos Vencer' (Together We Can Win).
