River Plate apologise to Messi

Beaten Club World Cup finalists River Plate have published a press release apologising for the behaviour of their supporters towards Lionel Messi in Japan.The statement released by the South American champions reads as follows: "In relation to the attacks on Lionel Messi at Narita airport, Club Atletico River Plate condemns all forms of violence and wishes to apologize to the player and FC Barcelona. River Plate congratulate Barcelona on winning the 2015 Club World Cup, held in Japan".
