Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo stated that he will retire from professional football "in four or five years' time", and plans to live "like a king" with his friends and family as soon as that day comes.
The Portuguese spilled the beans during an interview focusing on his character with Portuguese gossip magazine Caras which coincided with the release of his self-titled film, Ronaldo.
The forward admitted that football "is a huge part" of his life which is why he gives "100% all the time", although he still gets nervous when it comes to taking spot kicks.
In terms of booing and negative receptions from opposition supporters, Ronaldo stated that he is not bothered that he is hated because that hatred "is another source of motivation" which is "part of a footballer's job".
"I'm not the most modest person in the world, I admit that, I'm not fake, but I'm very humble in certain senses", stated the Real Madrid number 7.
The 30-year-old looked back on his childhood and how he had to move to Lisbon on his own at the age of 12 to begin playing in the Sporting academy which he classified as "one of the worst moments" of his life.
Ronaldo added that he was about to pack his bags and return to Madeira, but received the necessary support from the club and his family in order to power through and continue down the path that turned him into one of the game's greats.
