Neymar's Mum also in the docks

Another legal setback for the Neymar family, in just one of the many lawsuits currently open against them.

The judge of the Central Magistrates' Court No.5 at the High Court has decided to put Nadine Gonçalves da Silva Santos - the mother of the 'Azulgranas' star -, on trial in the case that the Brazilian company 'DIS' currently has open against Santos FC, Barcelona and the Neymar family.

The request for Neymar's mother to be questioned comes from the Brazilian company, and was made via the lawyers acting on their behalf in Spain (Ius + Aequitas). Their argument being that she is just as accountable as the footballer's father, given that both parents own 50% of the family businesses from which the player received large amounts of money.

The court order, which detailed the complaint presented against Nadine Gonçalves da Silva Santos read as follows: "There is evidence that the mother of the footballer had a role in proceedings, in view of the fact that she owns a 50% stake in the company 'N&N' and said company was created just prior to the agreements in which it was stated that 10 million euros would be paid into it".

Brazilian investment fund DIS decided to present this complaint when they learnt of the possibility that Santos and Barcelona had swindled them in announcing a transfer fee of 17.1 million euros, when in reality, much larger sums of money were involved.

Again in line with the version of events according to DIS, the overall fee paid for Neymar was split between a number of different contracts which were passed off under different names, the most obvious of these being the right of first refusal on three players which was set at 7.9million euros, but the real value of which was far from this amount.
