The dad-of-two, who earns £3.3million a year, is said to have told the woman he couldn't afford to pay for another kid.

Ex-Man United star Howard's "ex-girlfriend" told the Sun on Sunday newspaper how he "manipulated" her.

The 36-year-old footie ace and devout Christian has insisted the matter was "private".

His alleged lover branded him a "hypocrite" and a "pig".

The 32-year-old told the tabloid: “I feel totally betrayed, a complete fool.

"I believe he stayed with me to make sure I had an abortion."

She told the paper of her heartbreak after deciding to go through with a termination.

The woman, who has asked to remain anonymous, said: “I’m so sad I sacrificed a child I wanted to keep.

"It makes me so mad that he was a faithful Christian and he could behave like this."

The Sun reports the woman's claims that she met Howard during an end-of-season knees up in May last year, describing how he was "really sweet".

She says their relationship continued at the start of the 2014/2015 season.

And she claims he sent her saucy selfies of his manhood.

The alleged girlfriend says she learned she was expecting last November.

But she claims Howard was apparently less than delighted by the news of a third bundle of joy.

She went ahead with the abortion on New Year's Eve, the Sun reports.

She told the newspaper: "I feel I was manipulated and thought he would support me.

"I understood why he didn’t want the baby but couldn’t comprehend why he would treat me so callously.

When approached for comment, Howard told The Sun: "It is unfortunate that, for whatever reason, the person concerned has chosen to take her version of events public.

"I have no interest in discussing it further.”
