Arturo Vidal denies the claims made about him being sent home from the Chile camp for spending a drunken night at a casino.
That’s the story that was spun by Chilean paper El Mercurio, after Vidal was spotted in a bar having been given leave from the camp, so that he could fly home to Germany for his son’s diabetes operation.
Asked about the allegations by reporters today, Vidal looked dumbfounded, and insisted nothing untoward hard happened.
"I stayed an extra day because I didn’t make my first flight. I was followed at a restaraunt where I went to eat with friends, but that was it; I came home for personal reasons."
