Angel Di Maria has apologised to Manchester United fans in an open letter for leaving the club less than a year after he joined.

The Argentine winger sealed his £44.1million move to Paris Saint-Germain yesterday and signed a four-year deal with Laurent Blanc’s side.

The 27-year-old smashed the British transfer record to move to Old Trafford last summer in a deal worth £59.7m but failed to settle on and off the field during his time with the Red Devils.
