Lionel Messi was awarded a plaque today by the Argentinian FA, as a celebration for having reached a hundred games. The squad celebrated with a BBQ on Latin America's Father's Day.
Messi was presented with the award to commemorate his 100 appearances for his national side at La Serena, the peaceful Chilean town where Argentina are preparing for the quarter-finals of the Copa America.
The Barcelona player now has the fifth most international appearances ever for the Argentine national side, although he's still 42 games behind Javier Zanetti, who holds the record (142).
Despite having played so many games for the full international side, the Argentine centurion is yet to win a single major tournament with his international side, although he has picked up an impressive 46 goals and 27 assists so far.
