Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney says goodbye to the Bahamas after his family holiday

Wayne Rooney took to social media on Wednesday afternoon to share a picture of his idyllic summer holiday with his family in the Bahamas.

The Manchester United captain has been winding down in warmer climes after the conclusion of the Premier League season last month.

Rooney has been enjoying the sunshine in the Bahamas with his wife Coleen and two sons, Kai and Klay.

And the England captain shared the picture above of himself swimming in some crystal clear water as the holiday came to an end.

Rooney shared the picture on his Instagram account and wrote: “Had a great family holiday. Our boat trip on the Exumas was my favourite day. Thanks to everybody at @palmcay.”

Rooney enjoyed a relatively successful first season under new Manchester United manager Van Gaal following the Dutchman’s appointment as David Moyes’ permanent successor last summer.

He scored 12 goals and made five assists in 33 Premier League games as he helped the Red Devils secure a top-four finish and a route into next season’s Champions League.
