Nathan Ake takes the controls during Chelsea's flight to the UK
Nathan Ake was all smiles as he took the controls during Chelsea’s flight back to the UK from Australia on Wednesday.
Jose Mourinho’s men concluded their post-season tour with a 1-0 win over Sydney FC on Tuesday night in front of 83,000 fans thanks to Loic Remy’s goal.
Midfielder Ake was part of the travelling party who also beat a Thailand All-Stars team last week during the Blues’ tour.
And the 20-year-old looked in good spirits as he posed for a picture in the cockpit as the west London side flew home to the UK.
Ake posted the picture above on his Instagram account on Wednesday night and wrote: “Back home after a long flight. Thanks for this season and enjoy the holidays.”
Ake made five Championship appearances for Reading after being sent out on loan to the club for a month in March.
He made his first Premier League appearance of the season during the 3-0 loss to West Bromwich Albion last month after Mourinho’s men had already wrapped up the title.
