2014 began horrifically for Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg, as Wolfsburg's 20-year-old midfielder Junior Malanda died in a car accident.
Malanda was a Belgium under-21 international, who had begun to make himself a staple in the Wolfsburg's first team, having made 10 appearances at the start of the season..
The accident happened when the car he was travelling in towards Hannover left the motorway and hit a tree. The player was not wearing a seat-belt and was thrown from the vehicle.
The tragedy still hovers over Wolfsburg, and the club have chosen to pay tribute to Junior Malanda in a special shirt for the German Cup final this weekend.
Wolfsburg take on Borussia Dortmund in the final, and their kit will have a green heart near the top of the shirt, while inside the heart is the number 19, which was Junior Malanda's squad number.
