Mourinho's jibe at greedy parents & agents

Jose Mourinho believes greedy parents and agents are the main obstacle blocking young players' development.

"The most difficult thing in bringing a teenage player through? In modern football, the agents and the parents. When the players are almost there and in the process of being almost there, they (parents and agents) think they are already there. Without naming names, I could write a book", Mourinho told the Daily Mirror when asked about problems in developing future gems in the game.

"They make the players think they have arrived when they haven't. They think about money before the career starts, and everything gets very confused", claimed the Portuguese coach. "That doesn't help the players. They need stability".

With the league title already sealed, there was talk that Mourinho may call on some up-and-coming youngsters in the Chelsea ranks for the Monday night visit to West Bromwich Albion.

"I'm excited. But I keep emotional control. If I don't, I'd lose the players or help them go the wrong way. But yes, I am excited but with emotional control and stability. At this minute that's what they need", stated Mourinho with regard to his brightest prospects such as Izzy Brown, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Dominic Solanke.
