The £5m winger – sporting suede and fur Ugg slippers – showed off the Porsche Panamera’s custom paint job after garage bosses delivered it to his London home.

But QPR fans who spotted the snap on Twitter were quick to condemn the 24-year-old Scotland international’s timing.

The club was relegated to the Championship on Sunday after being thumped by Manchester City.

One wrote: ''Porsche and Ugg slippers.’

Another messaged: ''Lucky Phillips. He traded in his trusty Mondeo at last.’’

A QPR fan who saw the pictures moaned: ''Talk about poor timing.

''Thursday he’s posing up with his motor that is worth more money than some people’s houses and come the weekend they are getting their backsides kicked all over the pitch and sent back down to the Championship.’’

''The slippers are unforgivable as well.’’

Sunderland’s Steven Fletcher, 27, was blasted by fans after posing with his new £260,000 Lamborghini Aventador while struggling for goals during the club's relegation battle.

The £40,000-a-week striker, who has scored just seven times in two years, was blasted on Twitter after the photo of him with the motor on the driveway of his home went viral.

Fans moaned it was ‘undeserved’ and the timing was ‘really appalling’ after it began circulating three days before a 4-0 defeat.
